Hello, friend! I’m Heather, an award-winning author of Christian historical romance, children’s adventures, and encouragement for weary souls. I’m also a wife, a veteran homeschooling mama of five, and a woman who’s reasonably certain she was born in the wrong century.
I’ve always been a bit of an old soul. Give me beautiful dresses, old-fashioned manners, handwritten letters, a grand romance, and a gentleman who knows how to treat a lady, and I’m perfectly content. I love finding ways to romanticize everyday life, whether that’s through storytelling, creating something beautiful, or simply choosing to see the extraordinary in the ordinary.
A Little About My Stories
I believe in strong men who love fiercely, protect faithfully, and aren’t afraid to be tender. I believe in feminine women who can be both gentle and courageous, graceful and resilient. And I believe the most beautiful love stories are built on faith, sacrifice, devotion, and just the right amount of witty banter.
Those are the stories I love to write.
My historical romances feature imperfect people navigating extraordinary circumstances, discovering that courage doesn’t always look the way we expect and that God’s grace can reach us even in our darkest moments.
Stories for Little Adventurers
As a veteran homeschooling mama, I’ve also seen firsthand how powerful stories can be in helping children discover the world around them.
My Framing Your World chapter book series combines adventure, history, geography, culture, and faith to encourage young readers to explore God’s extraordinary creation while strengthening their relationships with Him and their families.
Beyond the Books
When I’m not writing, I’m usually dreaming up another creative project. I design handmade clay jewelry, create bookish graphics and digital goodies, and work behind the scenes helping other authors bring their own stories into the world.
I believe creativity is a gift, and I have entirely too much fun finding new ways to use it.
But above all, my greatest joys are my faith and my family. I believe marriage and motherhood are beautiful, meaningful callings, and I cherish the opportunity to build a life filled with love, laughter, purpose, and a little old-fashioned romance.
My Philosophy on AI
I believe artificial intelligence is a valuable creative tool, but one that comes with great ethical responsibility.
As an author and creative professional, I embrace technology that helps me bring my ideas to life. I use AI as a tool for visual design, editing assistance, and research, always with the understanding that technology should support human creativity, not replace it.
My stories, however, are entirely my own. The characters, plots, twists and turns, and words that make it onto the page are mine. That has always been true, and it always will be.
Then there’s the matter of my images. I occasionally use AI to create dreamy photographs of myself for social media and my website. And why shouldn’t I wander through a field of wildflowers at golden hour whenever my imagination desires? After all, if I’m going to live in a world of my own imagination, I might as well give myself perfect lighting, a fabulous wardrobe, and the figure I had 15 years ago.
I believe there is room for both innovation and artistic integrity, and I’m committed to honoring both.
